Exercise Index of TTCN-3 Basics Course

This section contains TTCN-3 Core Language exercises and answers that are used during the TTCN-3 Basics course to get hands-on experience with various TTCN-3 constructs.

Exercises of Day 1

The goal of the exercises of the first day is to become familiar with OpenTTCN Tester for TTCN-3 so that we are able to use it during the second and third days and to learn more about TTCN-3 Core Language by trying examples, programming presented exercises, and by trying TTCN-3 constructs that you may find interesting.

• Exercise 1.1 - Starting TTCN-3 tool

• Exercise 1.2 - Creating and manipulating testing sessions (= "projects")

• Exercise 1.3 - Loading (compiling) TTCN-3 module

• Exercise 1.4 - Running test cases

• Exercise 1.5 - Writing, loading, and running "Hello World" test case

• Exercise 1.6 - Stopping TTCN-3 tool

Exercises of Day 2

The goal of the exercises of the second day is to become familiar with the basic constructs used in TTCN-3 test cases.

• Exercise 2.1 - Preparations for DNS server testing

• Exercise 2.2 - Defining TTCN-3 message types for message-based communication

• Exercise 2.3 - Defining TTCN-3 templates for message-based communication

• Exercise 2.4 - Defining test configuration

• Exercise 2.5 - Sending and Receiving Messages

Exercises of Day 3

The goal of the exercises of the third day is to enhance the test case of the previous day using powerful constructs of TTCN-3 testing language.

• Exercise 3.1 - Defining alternatives and avoiding deadlock

• Exercise 3.2 - Avoiding deadlock using timers

• Exercise 3.3 - Using error handlers to streamline code

• Exercise 3.4 - Using module parameters / Using address

• Exercise 3.5 - Using multiple modules

• Exercise 3.6 - Specifying attributes to instruct coding and decoding

• Exercise 3.7 - Using dynamic test configurations
